About Us

Intent on creating a fun, lively, and approachable bar restaurant in their back yard — a neighborhood place where the very best in food and drink would be served in a cozy, welcoming setting — when the Andy’s spied the exhausted but hopeful old gas station on the venerable Arcadia corner of 56th Street and Indian School Road- Magic!  With a lot of help from friends and family Kitchen 56 took shape.  With some beautiful drawings from our super talented local architect friends at Biegner/Murff and Mark Tomecak we were able to reuse the main building even keeping the original bays to frame the artsy desert light that rolls down from our fisheye view of iconic Camelback Mountain.  Living the indoor /outdoor dream, the bar is stocked with tasty original cocktails served by feisty fun bartenders and servers. Our hot daily happy hour brings folks from near (really near… lots of people just walk or bike on over) and far (other side of the earth) to eat and drink on the dog friendly patio.  Pooches are pampered and can enter their furry faces in our Facebook photo contest to win their humans some free grub. Even so, Kitchen 56 remains a unique and charming neighborhood spot — a friendly, often bustling, always casual, place to enjoy icy cold brews, delicious comfort foodie meals off the oak and pecan wood fires, wines by the glass or bottle, and smarty pants cocktails. Toss in some artistry by local musicians with some exceptional food and retro cool charm and you have your spot.  Love + Local = Kitchen 56.
